WEEKLY CIRRICULUM
🧵 Week 1: Meet Your Sewing Machine Focus: Sewing Basics & Safety Students will be introduced to the sewing machine and learn the foundational skills needed to begin sewing with confidence. Students will learn: * Sewing machine safety * Parts of the sewing machine * How to thread the machine * How to wind and insert a bobbin * Proper sewing posture and hand placement * Sewing straight lines * Starting and ending stitches with a backstitch
✂️ Week 2: Measuring, Cutting & Construction Focus: Preparing Fabric for Sewing Students will learn how to properly prepare fabric before sewing and understand the importance of accuracy. Students will learn: * Reading a ruler and measuring fabric * Fabric grain and placement * Pinning techniques * Cutting fabric safely * Understanding seam allowance * Sewing corners and simple curves
👜 Week 3: Building Sewing Skills Focus: Strengthening Sewing Techniques Students will begin creating larger projects while learning how to make their work neat, durable, and professional. Students will learn: * Topstitching * Reinforcing seams * Pressing seams * Sewing straps * Turning projects right side out * Following beginner sewing instructions
👗 Week 4: Beginner Garment Construction Focus: Introduction to Garment Construction Students will explore the basics of garment sewing by creating a wearable item from start to finish. Students will learn: * Reading simple pattern pieces * Sewing larger fabric pieces together * Creating an elastic waistband * Hemming techniques * Finishing seams
✨ Week 5: Creativity & Graduation Focus: Putting It All Together Students will combine everything they’ve learned while adding their own creative style to a final project. Students will learn: * Creative finishing techniques * Decorative stitching * Adding embellishments * Reviewing sewing fundamentals * Caring for and maintaining a sewing machine

$400 per Student
Our 5-week Beginner Sewing Academy is thoughtfully designed to provide students with the tools, instruction, and confidence to begin their sewing journey. Each enrollment includes everything needed to participate, so there’s no need to purchase additional supplies before class.

Payment Policy
To ensure each student has a prepared workstation, sewing machine, and class materials, all tuition must be paid in full before the first day of class.Because supplies are purchased and prepared in advance, all payments and deposits are non-refundable. If a student is unable to attend after enrolling, please contact us as soon as possible. Transfer requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on availability.
